Eating Disorder Awareness


This week we spread awareness about eating disorders. Have you ever felt full, but could not stop eating? Have you ever been starving of hunger, but denied your body food based on fear of weight gain? Recognizing these symptoms need attention as soon as possible. As we enter National Disorder Awareness Week, February 21-27, educating ourselves on these common disorders allows us to help ourselves and loved ones who are struggling with this issue. The eating disorders are often misunderstood; it is a mental illness, not a lifestyle choice, and it doesn't discriminate.

“In the United States, 20 million women and 10 million men suffer from a clinically significant eating disorder at some time in their life including:"


These disorders can sneak up and be fatal. We want to help people recognize the diagnosis and start the road of recovery to a healthy life. It can be challenging enough without having to face the uncertainty of medical evaluations and insurance approval. These resources will make the process easier, helping you to understand and find the treatment that is right for you or your loved ones.
