Fall 2014 Newsletter

 Welcome Clint!

On October 1, 2013 MHC Healthcare welcomed Clinton Kuntz as the new Chief Executive Officer. After serving as the Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Kuntz was appointed to his new role at the Board of Director’s Annual Meeting.

“I am proud to be part of such an innovative organization. MHC is a proven champion for those with chronic diseases and for those who need behavioral health services. I have a personal understanding of the trials and challenges of those who must navigate the road of chronic disease. In 2012 my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. As a father and as the CEO of MHC Healthcare, I am here to bring the compassion, commitment and resources to the communities we serve,” says Kuntz.

For over half a century MHC healthcare has been providing quality healthcare with a heart. MHC has 14 locations throughout Marana, Catalina, Picture Rocks, Pima County and Tucson Metro areas and together we serve over 40,000 individuals every year. MHC Healthcare offers primary care to individuals of  all ages, no matter their ability to pay. “We are committed to programs where we are able to focus on the total person and make a positive impact on the wellness of the community,” says CEO, Clint Kuntz.

Many of our health center locations offer a one-stop service model, which provides patients with easy access to a multitude of medical services including: Medical, Behavioral Health, Dental, WIC (Women, Infants & Children), Insurance Screening/Outreach, Women’s Health, Radiology, Quick Care and Pharmacy along with state-of-the-art medical equipment. “We believe the personal relationship between a patient and doctor is the key to quality health. It is our goal to treat all patients with the care and respect we would expect for our own families,” Kuntz explains. MHC Healthcare is dedicated to proving the best possible health care to you and your family.

Carl's Story

When Carl first came to MHC in 2005, he had just had a pulmonary embolism, was diagnosed as a food addict and diabetic, and he weighed 446 pounds. His body was breaking down and he was no longer able to work. “My doctor put the paperwork in for social security disability, and four months later I had it!,” Carl exclaimed. Over the 9-year journey Carl has spent with us, we have helped him take control of his diabetes and his eating disorder. In the past 18 months he has lost 100 pounds and plans to lose an additional 140 pounds over the next couple years.

“Everything is feeling better – my sight’s clearing up, my head isn’t foggy anymore, I’m getting clearer days and more sleep … I got to know everyone at MHC Healthcare, and they all know me. Every patient here isn’t just a number, MHC is trying to help you … I’ve been treated well here, I really have,” Carl said. In a few years, Carl sees himself walking, keeping his diabetes under control, and achieving his goal weight of 200 pounds. “I’m going to be here until I can’t move anymore!”

MHC Healthcare is recognized as a PCMH (Patient-Centered Medical Home), which is a healthcare model where primary care providers coordinate their patients’ entire medical care. This means that we will follow-up and stay engaged with you throughout your medical processes. MHC Healthcare has worked hard to gain recognition as a PCMH, and because of this we are able to provide higher quality healthcare while also lowering costs.
